As part of the English Schools Foundation(ESF), our students are supported by the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong, providing them the resources and opportunities not found outside of ESF Schools.
We believe in fostering a strong partnership between schools and families. We actively encourage parental involvement and maintain open lines of communication to ensure that parents are fully engaged in their child's educational journey.
Our schools offer comprehensive support systems, including personalised guidance, pastoral care, and counselling services, to help students thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
Alongside academic excellence, our well-rounded education cultivates talents, interests, and character through diverse co-curricular activities in sports, arts, music, and community service.
We foster students' social-emotional learning through assemblies, classroom integration, and cultivating respectful school relationships - empowering well-being and academic achievement.
SJS can offer you a world-class education that nurtures your child's holistic development.
At SJS, our students follow a curriculum inspired by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). This international, transdisciplinary framework fosters the development of the whole child, encompassing academic, social, physical, emotional, and cultural growth.
Students at SJS express themselves through the Student Council, House Captains, CARE Reps, and Environmental Reps, promoting leadership, inclusivity, and sustainability while actively participating in school life.
Sport and physical activity are vital to school life at Sha Tin Junior School, offering diverse opportunities for student wellbeing and allowing participation in local, national, and global competitions.
At Sha Tin Junior School, we ensure learning extends beyond the classroom, providing students with opportunities to explore Hong Kong through trips, excursions, and dedicated camps.
Making sure that our students gain from the experience of others is an important part of what we do here at Sha Tin Junior School. We have a regular programme of expert speakers, visitors and even alumni coming into the school to pass on their knowledge and allow the students to learn from them. This is not only great for the young people, it builds and strengthens our school community.

It has been a fun journey because it has taught me how to organise my time better, and go to meetings on time, as well as being responsible. I hope in the future we can do more activities and make the school a place for people who are from different places to feel like they are home. I also hope future house captains can be as responsible as us this year.

Being a House Captain has given me many great opportunities and helped me grow throughout Year 6. If you want to know what it’s like, you should know that it is a lot of fun! However, responsibility comes along with it as well. I learned how to manage myself, work with deadlines and manage time as well. Being a House Captain is amazing and a rewarding experience. I feel very grateful to be able to give back to this school that has helped me grow over the last 5 years.

Seeing my children’s happy faces at pick-up time has become one of the best moments of my everyday routine. I love how SJS has cultivated a culture of kindness and respect, and a friendly atmosphere that encourages every student to thrive.

The values taught at SJS go beyond the classroom. My child has not only excelled academically but has also learned compassion, kindness, and responsibility.

We particularly enjoy sports day where the spirit of the community joins together.
When everyone is cheering for their houses and friends, the atmosphere and applause from the stadium were simply electrifying!
My son enjoys his enrichment reading club, where he is given the opportunity to collaborate in a team and has different roles each week; his favourite so far is being an illustrator.

School Garden 🌿 - Border for the Drains Then & NOW~ In December 2020, a trench has been cut next to the drain and a line of bricks embedded to protect the drains and discourage traffic onto the slope.
Proud parents watching over their young. Here the baby is practising his flying moves on our climbing frame. 🐦
Our Chinese Bulbul chick has grown feathers and is ready to fly. The chicks are now fledglings. Just taking a moment to ponder how to take flight!
Our playground is a bird’s paradise 🐦 Our Chinese Bulbul chicks are starting to grow their feathers.
Here is Shelly 🐢 the Razor Back Musk Turtle enjoying being fed. She eats mince from a chopstick 🥢 or off of the rock. She needs food every second day.
Look at our amazing hoops showing the children's rights. Each class was responsible for researching and displaying a child's right. They have then been teaching that right in assembly each week. Their understanding and creativity is phenomenal. Well done SJS! #theRightsOfEveryChild
